Disc Brake Conversion Service.

While talking to Sam at Stayer Cycles I mentioned how I wish there was a simple way to get disc tabs on your bike. After many conversations, we have created a mail-in service to send in your frame and get a modification on your steel retro bike.

The service will include the addition of disc tabs and cable guides and the removal of the original brake posts.

If you wish to keep original brake posts please add a note in the package with specifics.

It’s £130 all in. This includes return postage and packaging if needed. 

This service is for frame only and does not include forks. It also does not include paint or clearcoat.

Please add a note on the inside of your parcel with your full name and order number. (Make sure the return address is correct when you checkout.)

The work will be done in batches to minimise the impact on the Stayer Workshop.

please only send your frame. Head set cups are ok left in but please o loose parts  

The nature of metalwork means it will leave burns and scorch marks on the paint and, depending who you ask, either looks cool or essentially ruins said original paint.

PLEASE only do this if this is what you're happy with. Of course you can repaint the frame and make it look completely and totally awesome but if you’re looking to keep your bike looking original and preserve the paint, this is not for you.

Sending the frame is your responsibility. It can be sent to the address above. Stayer or Save Old Bikes cannot take responsibility for the frame at this point, so we suggest packing the frame securely and sending via a tracked courier service you can trust.
